The Last of Us is Naughty Dog's take on post-apocalypse, has Enslaved designer

Naughty Dog surprised virtually everyone at this year's VGAs with the reveal trailer for their newest game, The Last of Us--I mean, seeing as how they just finished up Uncharted 3 and all. A little later, news broke that Enslaved's lead designer, Mark Richard Davies, is also working on the project. 

The Last of Us is the studio's take on the post-apocalyptic realm, although this game more than any other before it has a heavy I Am Legend influence. It follows what appears to be a father and daughter fighting for survival amidst some sort of outbreak--possibly caused by the government, but who knows--and they just keep moving day and night in hopes of seeing the next sunrise. 

While I could be wrong, I'll still say that it seems fairly obvious that The Last of Us is going to be a two-player co-operative title, which, I think could work in this setting. Single-player would probably be the most fitting choice, again, like I Am Legend, but I guess Naughty Dog wanted to skip ahead to when Dr. Neville met Anna. 

Unfortunately, this Fall of Cybertron trailer isn't in-game

CG trailers are a mixed bag. Often times, they are excellent eye candy, and can truly make you visualize a world in a way you couldn't have otherwise. Other times, however, they are just flat out done horribly. Fortunately, the latest Transformers: Fall of Cybertron trailer falls under the former, and is in fact so good, that it saddens me that it isn't in-game footage. 

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron currently has a Fall 2012 release window. 

Gravity keeping you down? Check out INVERSION's newest trailer

INVERSION is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on February 7, 2012, and Namco has been very active in promoting it. Having already bought ad space on YouTube, each trailer they've released shows off the gameplay elements we can expect from INVERSION when it releases, and it looks quite intriguing. The newest trailer, "Gravitational Powers," definitely upholds this statement.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - "Redemption" campaign trailer

In a little over a month, the wait for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be over for millions of FPS fans. For now, however, we have a look at a new trailer showing off the single-player campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and the story that players will be experiencing in the game.

This is Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer

With this weekend being Call of Duty XP and all, we are finally given the debut trailer for Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but I still see a heavy focus on aerial support, a complete contradiction to what Robert Bowling stated previously, where he mentioned Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer would harken back to that of Call of Duty 4.

With a keen eye, you may notice some new gameplay elements in the trailer, like what perks are being used, explosives, and what not. There also seems to be more emphasis on running this time around, as well as ledge hopping. Modern Parkour, yeah!

Mint! Here's another look at Hawken

We've not seen much of indie-dev Adhesive Games' mech title, Hawken, but what we have seen so far looks very, very promising. The team revealed a new trailer at PAX this weekend, and, well, it pretty much speaks for itself.

Start taggin' Lancers in this Gears of War 3 opening cinematic

Word. It's about to get super hardcore up in Gears of War 3, so much so that Anya is taggin' the crimson Gears omen all over stuff, most notably her trusty Lancer. After watching this trailer, I hope there's constant side-missions in the game that allow you to pull a Jet Set Radio and just tag a whole city.

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded's MI6 Ops mode trailer

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded will be releasing later this year on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. It will run at 60-frames per second, feature four-player split-screen and 16-player online multiplayer, and will also ship with a brand new mission mode called, "MI6 Ops."

 "MI6 Ops" features missions that differ from Reloaded's main campaign, and has players completing specific objectives through four different scenarios.

• Elimination- Neutralize all enemies before time runs out
• Stealth- Remove targets without being seen
• Defense- Protect a computer terminal against waves of enemies
• Assault- Two words: Just charge.

Developer Eurocom has also confirmed Sharpshooter support on the PlayStation 3.

Teasing Borderlands 2 teaser teases dual-wielding

This teasing Borderlands 2 teaser trailer teases some gameplay, teases some logos, teases a killer beard, and most of all it teases some awesome gameplay which teases dual-wielding. It also teases the idea that this guy loves the punk group Dead Kennedys, as he's sporting a teasing pin on his right shoulder.

Yea, this Battlefield 3 multiplayer trailer definitely showcases Jets

For the first time ever we are given gameplay footage of Battlefield 3's jets, and yes, they are just as awesome as anybody could have imagined. The map featured is Caspian Border, a "vehicle-heavy map that exemplifies classic Battlefield gameplay."

Dead Island trailer reminds us that killing brings people together

Y'know, you can never get enough zombie shooters. I mean, really, you can just kill, kill, kill zombies and it will never get old. So, needless to say I am rather excited about Dead Island, as should you. That is, if you like to slaughter mindless undead. The newest trailer for Dead Island also reminds us that, while violent, killing brings people together.

This is Modern Warfare 3's co-op mode, 'Survival'

These days, a survival mode in a AAA shooter is what online multiplayer was to the genre say...two years ago. No high-profile shoot 'em up doesn't come without its co-operative play bulletpoint, and the Call of Duty series is no different. CoD started with the now famous "Nazi Zombies" mode in World at War and Black Ops, and then strayed away with Modern Warfare 2's "Spec Ops". Now, for Modern Warfare 3 we are getting simply, "Survival," a mode where you once again fight waves of "increasingly difficult enemies."

Although its core is the tried-and-true Call of Duty formula, "Survival" still looks like a lot of fun. See for yourself after the break.

Ex-Bulletstorm, Witcher 2 Staff releasing Hard Reset on PC this September

Hard Reset, the first game from new studio Flying Wild Hog--comprised of former Bulletstorm, Sniper: Ghost Warrior, and The Witcher 2 devs--will be releasing on the PC this September. In it, players follow the story of Major Fletcher as he "takes arms against the robot hordes" and aims to protect humanity's last remaining city, Bezoar.

This "dark sci-fi" shooter is running on a built-from-scratch engine called "Road Hog", and while pricing wasn't detailed yet, Flying Wild Hog noted it will fall somewhere between a AAA release and that of the "lighter-weight, downloadable FPSes."

Resistance Dual Pack now Available; Here's a Trailer!

All right, Resistance 3 undoubtedly looks awesome, but playing it won't nearly be as enjoyable if you haven't experienced the first two yet, right? Luckily, Insomniac Games' Resistance Dual Pack is out today and contains 2006's Resistance: Fall of Man and 2008's Resistance 2. Oh, you also get $10 worth of bonus content and a Resistance 3 skin--not bad for $40, huh?

Trailer: Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon Brings Down the House

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon seems to have less to do with killing giant, sometimes mechanized insects, and more to do with causing mass destruction in the city of New Detroit--more so than the chaos that already occupies the actual state of Detroit.

After watching the trailer, I don't think even Robocop himself can help the cause.

Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon releases for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 next Tuesday.

Trailer: Welcome to the Jungle...Infested with Zombies!!!

Forget about poisonous snakes, wild chimps, or even Jon Voight, because the dense jungles are filled with something far more dangerous--zombies! If you haven't guessed by now, the latest trailer for the Call of Duty: Black Ops "Annihilation" DLC is out, and this time we get a look at the game's newest "Zombies" map Shangri-La.

Be sure to be on the lookout at the 1:00 mark as we get a quick peak at a "new toy", i.e., a Claymore that shoots out wooden stakes. Nice!

The "Annihilation" DLC is set to release on the Xbox 360 tomorrow, with the other consoles to follow sometime afterward.

Bodycount Ships this August, Trailer looks like Michael Bay: The Game

Bodycount, the pseudo-sequel to the cult-classic FPS Black has returned with a new trailer straight from E3. Now, either this was a closed doors showing beforehand or Codemasters is a few weeks too late--nonetheless, the trailer contains more explosions than you'll see in any blockbuster film this summer, but I'm not saying that in a bad way by any means. Just as I said with Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, I admire games that have more fun with themselves as opposed to being strictly serious all the time; that's something the industry needs more of if you ask me.

In Bodycount, "everything is focused on the experience of squeezing the trigger, hearing bullets tear through the air and watching them obliterate the enemies and the environment," says Codemasters' Community Manager Benjamin Bateman.

Bodycount is scheduled to ship this August on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

As with every summer movie blockbuster released nowadays, the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon flick has a video game tie-in.
