Hard Reset "Extended Edition" hits retail this March

Those who are without a Steam account will soon be able to enjoy the wonders and thrills that Flying Wild Hog's Hard Reset offers. Releasing in retailers next March is Hard Reset's "Extended Edition," which packs five new levels--said to total two hours of gameplay--four new enemies, and a new boss.

Other "additional gameplay elements" will be on offer as well, including, but not limited to, a new back-story and two new "Survival" levels. All this will be contained in an "updated graphics engine." No word if the "Extended Edition" will have extended pricing, but we'll be sure to let you know.

Hard Reset patch brings "Survival" mode

Hard Reset's latest patch, Patch 1.2, adds "Survival" mode to Flying Wild Hog's cyberpunk sci-fi FPS. Two new maps have also been added, as well as support for NVIDIA 3D Vision and Surround, along with a laundry list of tweaks and changes to the gameplay.

Also included is support for multiple display set-ups, with three display adapters recommended for the best effects.

You can check out all of Patch 1.2's contents on Steam.

Hard Reset patch tweaks controls and sprint

Hard Reset receives the 1.01 patch that addresses the community's criticisms toward its difficulty. The patch simplifies the controls and tweaks sprint mechanics--welcomed changes that streamlines the experience and dampens the frustration.

Major changes include:

"Additional Mouse button bindings - You can bind the 4th and 5th mouse buttons.

All keys button bindings - you can now bind all the buttons on Numerical Keypad (except for number 5).

Sprint (shortly) even while still recharging - Sprinting is now possible at any moment - you don't have to wait till the sprint bar fills up.
Sprint will now charge 20% faster than before.

Disable Weapon Cool-down period - Weapon cooldowns are disabled now. You can change weapon modes while the weapon is on cooldown.

Improved the time between switching between N.R.G. Weapon and CLN Firearm.

Single Switch-Weapon Button - the F key will now switch between weapons.

Mid-game difficulty change - You are now able to switch difficulty midgame (the lowest difficulty ever chosen during the whole run determines the achievements unlocked)."

Ex-Bulletstorm, Witcher 2 Staff releasing Hard Reset on PC this September

Hard Reset, the first game from new studio Flying Wild Hog--comprised of former Bulletstorm, Sniper: Ghost Warrior, and The Witcher 2 devs--will be releasing on the PC this September. In it, players follow the story of Major Fletcher as he "takes arms against the robot hordes" and aims to protect humanity's last remaining city, Bezoar.

This "dark sci-fi" shooter is running on a built-from-scratch engine called "Road Hog", and while pricing wasn't detailed yet, Flying Wild Hog noted it will fall somewhere between a AAA release and that of the "lighter-weight, downloadable FPSes."

Check for the game's trailer after the break.
