"The Doctor Who Cloned Me" is Duke Nukem Forever's new single-player campaign

A new single-player campaign add-on is coming to Duke Nukem Forever in the form of "The Doctor Who Cloned Me," developer Gearbox Software revealed today.

The add-on takes place in Area 51, where Duke must end Dr. Proton's evil intentions. Duke will have to fight off evil clones, alien queens, and "anything else that comes in his way in order to save the world and his babes." The single-player content also includes new weapons, new interactive items, and new Achievements and Trophies.

Lastly, the add-on packs four new multiplayer maps: Sky High, Command, Drop Zone, and Biohazard.

"The Doctor Who Cloned Me" releases on December 13 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC for $9.99

Duke Nukem Forever wasn't reviewed fairly in Gearbox's eyes

Gearbox Software's co-founder Brian Martel had some interesting words to say about Duke Nukem Forever's review scores to Eurogamer back in August, and feels the game wasn't reviewed fairly, and that the team's "not quite sure where some of the anger came from."

"Everybody should really be thankful that it existed to some degree at all," he said.

Duke Nukem Forever was definitely a love it or hate it title, with the review scores either being in the extreme lows, or the extreme highs. Rarely was a score in the middle seen. Responding to this, Martel claims the reviews weren't fair, and that gamers today are not used to what Duke Nukem Forever was supposed to be.

Duke Nukem Forever's PC Specs Revealed

Are you a PC gamer planning on getting Duke Nukem Forever? Well, we've got the minimum and recommended specs for the game after the break, just to inform you on whether or not your rig can handle it.

I'm not going to lie, I have no idea if the specs mentioned are super hardcore or just standard stuff--I'm a console guy! So, tell me, are these specs over-the-top?

A Look Back at Duke Nukem's Origins

Before Duke Nukem was in a vicious cycle of delays, he started out as a 2D-sidescroller. In fact, in his 2D days he also looked rather pleasant, always having a huge smile on his face. Now, he's a guy who has the intention of slapping women in multiplayer matches while chewing bubblegum.

Many people like the Duke, and if you want to know the backstory behind the series, the video below does a good job at informing you on just that. The short documentary features Randy Pitchford from Gearbox Software, Scott Miller of 3D Realms, and Allen Bum of Triptych Games just to name a few faces.

Duke Nukem Forever Delayed; No One Surprised

In a shocking turn of events, 2K Games has just issued a press release stating that Duke Nukem Forever has been delayed - yet again, until June. Those who have been eagerly awaiting the title; for fifteen years - will be pleased to know that the waiting game continues for another few months. Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software was kind enough to release a video message for us all on Youtube - hoping to ease our sorrows just a bit.

In the meantime, you can head on over to the official Duke Nukem website and send those guys some strongly worded sentiments of the delay.

Duke Nukem Forever's Multiplayer Detailed, Involves Slapping Women

The Duke Nukem franchise is (in)famous for being a balls to the walls game containing a cringe style of humor. Some embrace it, while others, like parents and politicians, loathe it. This leads us to the upcoming Duke Nukem Forever game from Gearbox Software, and the Duke4 forums has spilled some beans regarding the multiplayer aspect of the game.

You get your typical 'deathmatch' (or 'Dukematch' in this case), 'King of the Hill', and so on, but a new mix on an old gametype will surely cause a frenzy. 'Capture the Flag' in Duke Nukem  Forever is now called 'Capture the Babe'; obviously, it involves teams capturing women. The kicker here is that players need to slap the women who occasionally get out of control in order to calm them.

This will surely grab some attention, but as the old saying goes, bad publicity is still publicity. Or...something like that.

  • Modes include Dukematch, Team Dukematch, Hail to the King (King of the Hill) and Capture the Babe
  • There are ten maps.
  • Multiplayer includes persistent leveling and stats. Potential upgrades are yet to be shown.
  • There will be jetpacks, which are exclusive to the multiplayer section.
  • At least on the Xbox 360 version, multi is limited to eight-player matches.
  • One returning weapon is the Holo-Duke, which adds the advantage of cloaking the user.
  • A multiplayer demo is planned to appear before launch.
