Syndicate's cooperative mode has nine missions from the original

EA's upcoming Syndicate reboot will contain missions that just one person won't be able to tackle alone. Thus, they have co-operative missions, where four elite agents will work together in order to get the objective done. Not only that, but a few of the missions, nine, in fact, will have agents taking a trip back in time by revisiting missions from the original Syndicate; truly something that fans should be excited about.

Australia won't see Syndicate due to, yes, censorship

Earlier today, EA's Syndicate was refused classification in Australia, which means it was unsuitable for a minor to either see or play. The classification mentioned Syndicate has combatants "take locational damage and can be explicitly dismembered...accompanied by copious bloodspray and injuries are shown realistically and with detail."

After classification refusal, EA told Joystiq that they have no plans to alter Syndicate in order for approval.

"The game will not be available in Australia despite its enthusiastic response from fans," EA Corporate Communication's Tiffany Steckler said. "We were encouraged by the government's recent agreement to adopt an 18+ age rating for games. However, delays continue to enforce an arcane censorship on games--cuts that would never be imposed on books or movies. We urge policy makers to take swift action to implement an updated policy that reflects today's market and gives its millions of adult consumers the right to make their own content choices."

Earlier in the year, the Mortal Kombat reboot tried to appeal the Australian classification standards and lost.

Syndicate "Deep-Dive Origins" trailer briefs agents with the past and future outlooks

A new Syndicate trailer commemorates its origins and reimagines the future of the series. Will the transition from tactical shooter to first person shooter hold up Syndicate fans?

Syndicate is set for release on February 21, 2012.

Syndicate trailer looking dark and sounding dirty

Syndicate's announcement trailer provides eye candy (and audio candy, for some people) after weeks of printed teasers and details. Have a ball hacking into peoples' minds and watching bullets ricochet while prowling in the dark. The dubstep track Skrillex provided sounds dirty as usual, though it seems a bit out of place.

Syndicate returns February 2012

The Syndicate reboot that was announced earlier this month received new details including a release date, Electronic Arts revealed. The game comes out February 21, 2012 in the US and February 24 in Europe.

The game's official site opens with additional details. Set in the year 2069, corporations control all aspects of society, and use all means to achieve world dominance from one another. Players will look through the eyes of a bio-engineered agent, Miles Kilo, and rain havoc on poor souls.

Suit up for sci-fi action next year.

Syndicate "revealed" after its Origin leak, coming early 2012

After being rumored for most of eternity, and being leaked over the weekend on EA's Origin service, publisher and developer Starbreeze Studios finally unveiled the existence of the first-person shooter, Syndicate.

Set in 2069, and created by a development team that boasts providing great shooters such as The Chronicles of Riddick and The Darkness, Syndicate takes players into a dark, lawless world with a three-way war occurring between the Eurocorp, Cayman Global, and Aspari corporations. Being set in the future, weapons are not your only friend, as you can slow down time and complete a variety of upgradable hacking mechanics, blending the "innovative chip breach gameplay" into the game's fast-paced shooter structure.

Syndicate is due out in 2012 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. After trolling around the internet, as well as the EpicBattleAxe comment section, it doesn't seem like this is the winner of an announcement I'm sure EA and Starbreeze hoped for. Is this really a day of reckoning?
