Designer of Black bringing us Enemy Front, a CryEngine-powered WWII shooter

Black designer and former Codemasters employee, Stuart Black, is working with City Interactive as chief designer to bring the world Enemy Front, a CryEngine 3-powered World War II shooter.

Enemy Front puts you in the boots of a soldier dropped behind enemy lines who will tackle missions inspired by historical events, spanning several years and key battles, as well as a few true-to-life missions, including the 1944 "Wolf's Lair" assassination attempt on Hitler.

With CryEngine 3 at its core, as well as Stuart Black, Enemy Front will feature a hefty helping of environmental damage from the rain of bullets flying by and the multitude of grenades being lobbed. It will also focus more on the single-player component as opposed to multiplayer, presumably similar to Black's aforementioned 2005 shooter, Black, and the more recent Bodycount.

Also going for Enemy Front is its visual approach, which from the screen above represents a more stylized approach when compared to the countless WWII shooters in the past.

Enemy Front will deploy on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in 2012, so be on the lookout here as more information drops.
