Free Saints Row 2 promotion extends to a ton more regions

Originally only set for availability in the US, Canada, and Mexico, the free offering of Saints Row 2 on PlayStation 3 with the activation of Saints Row: The Third's online pass has been extended to other regions.

The regions are: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, and United Kingdom.

Phew! Just be sure to redeem your passes before February 13, 2012 to take advantage of the offer.

Saints Row: The Third owners on PlayStation 3 get free digital copy of Saints Row 2

After the recent hoopla about PlayStation 3 owners getting stiffed on exclusive Saints Row: The Third content, THQ global community manager Jon Miller announced on the PlayStation Blog today that redeeming your online pass within the next 90 days will grant you a free digital download of Saints Row 2.

Saints Row 2 will be available for free starting next week and will remain so until midnight on February 13, 2012. Check here to see if your region qualifies. 

Saints Row: The Third has an online pass

Saints Row: The Third will require an online pass to activate its co-operative offerings. The news of this pass comes shortly after its offering of a season pass.

So, used-game hunters looking to tear it up online will have to buy a pass code to fully enjoy the Saints Row: The Third experience. Everybody else will pretty much go unaffected by this.

Saints Row: The Third offers a season pass

Saints Row: The Third joins the legion of multiplayer games to offer a season pass, THQ announced. The season pass grants a 15% discount on the four upcoming downloadable content packs that will release between January and Spring 2012.

The season pass includes three mission packs -- "Genkibowl VII," "Gangstas in Space," and "The Trouble With Clones" -- as well as the "Nyte Blayde" pack which, which will have you running the streets with sports attire, sci-fi gear, and vampire-themed swag (pictured above).

Saints Row: The Third - Image Explosion!

Saints Row: The Third is scheduled for release later this year; currently on November 15, according to Amazon.com.  THQ just released 33 images showing off Saints Row: The Third, and the direction they are taking with the game.

I find it interesting that Saints Row: The Third isn't scheduled for release for several more months, and THQ is already releasing so many images for the game, seemingly ignoring their Executive Vice President's advice about marketing games.

Ignoring Danny Bilson's advice from within the company though, just means we can enjoy some of the images they have released.  Take a look at some of the crazy scenarios taking place in the game, after the break!
