Kojima: We'll "probably" have to make MGS5 at some point

While the cover of the next Official PlayStation Magazine UK stated there would be Metal Gear Solid 5 details, which of course got the internet abuzz with excitement, things are not quite what they seemed.

Speaking to the mag, Hideo Kojima merely stated, "I think we'll probably have to make it at some point, but what that will be, we have no idea."

It also appeared that Kojima would delve his hand into the project in a drastic way, though that was also shot down. "As far as my involvement in the project is concerned," he says, "[it] probably won't be as much as it was with MGS1--maybe I can do just one stage! For MGS1 I made the maps myself, laid out the enemy routes myself, did everything hands on--that level I can't do again."

And while this was also the case with 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4, Kojima then went on to be a consistent part of the project, which is why he says "it's easier to have them [the team] come up with everything from the start and then take it to the end."

So, we're at a stalemate. A new Metal Gear Solid isn't quite unrealistic, though it's not quite as "confirmed" as we all thought prior.
