When we mentioned yesterday that early copies of Modern Warfare 3 were being sold at a Tampa Kmart, and had then hit online bidding outlets, we were shocked that one copy hit a $500 bid. Well, in less than a day that bid has since been trumped more than three-fold, with a copy being sold on eBay with a winning bid of $1,725.
Now, here's the odd thing about it. One, the estimated delivery time noted in the above screen is 3-4 business days, so odds are the bidder won't receive his "early" copy until Tuesday, anyway. Second, Xbox Live's director of policy and enforcement Stephen Toulouse says that, after stating the opposite prior, those who play early copies of Modern Warfare 3 will risk being banned. So, I wonder, was this worth it?
