While many will argue that Dead Island didn't deliver on what may have been "promised" with its first teaser trailer, people ultimately ate the game up, so to speak, with developer Techland having shipped 2 million units within the first week of release.
So, it comes as no surprise that a sequel would be in the back Techland's mind, and Siliconera reports that the studio trademarked the name "Dead World," which doesn't take a private eye to see that this could very well be a sequel to this year's open-world zombified adventure, which would presumably be set in an even more open-world.
