Those who have been around the block with Battlefield 3's multiplayer may have noticed that matches don't end with the entire level being a huge crater, something that was usually seen in Bad Company 2. Well, that will all change beginning with the "Back to Karkand" map pack, the first of DICE's promised continual updates to the game.
EA executive vice president Patrick Soderlund stated the "Karkand" pack will contain more destruction than what is offered in the current maps, and hopes that people see it as "something fresh."
"When you play "Karkand," it's just crazy the amount of destruction that goes on in there. And that's a deliberate decision by the small team who made the pack, to really dial that up and make it even more prominent than it is in the Battlefield 3 'vanilla' experience."
"Back to Karkand" releases this December, with the PlayStation 3 crowd getting the DLC a week in advance. It brings classic Battlefield 2 maps re-imagined with the Frostbite 2 engine.
