Although the announcement of dedicated servers in the PC version of Modern Warfare 3 excited many, Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling may have dropped the ball by tweeting they only apply to unranked matches.
When a fan exclaimed that he was forced to use P2P servers in order to rank up, Bowling tried to appease the matter by replying, "It's the same on consoles. They can't rank up in private or custom games. Public is about progression. Private is about control."
After a multitude of problems that occurred in Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer, it's a bit upsetting to hear that Modern Warfare 3's dedicated servers will only be usable when partying with a big squad.
