Prey 2 Does Away with Puzzling Elements

When the original Prey was released, it offered gamers an experience that was far more than just some dude shooting stuff. Prey had gameplay elements dealing with gravity manipulation and the ability to use portals, and some may have found both ideas appealing.

Unfortunately, developer Human Head Studios feels different, and is doing away with both aspects altogether. Speaking with PS3M Magazine, Lead Designer Chris Reinhart stated:

"We explored a lot of the ways you could use portals and gravity in combat, and I really wanted to shift away from making it too much of a puzzle game."

Also, since The Sphere, the mothership from the original game, is gone, there is nothing for the portals and gravity to function on. How can a portal function without a mothership?!

Is this smart on the part of Human Head Studios? Omitting an aspect that set Prey apart from other shooters on the market? We'll just have to wait and see...
