Conduit 2 - Alternate Fire Mode & Arsenal Preview

Conduit 2 is scheduled for release in a little over a month, on April 19. Sega and HVS have been doing more interviews/previews of the game recently, and Sega just posted up a nice feature on some of the weapons you will be firing in Conduit 2. Keith Hladik, one of the producers of Conduit 2 from HVS, discusses three of the weapons in Conduit 2, and their alternate fire modes. Two of the weapons discussed are returning from the original game, the TPC Launcher and the Hive Cannon; while the last weapon Keith discusses, The Darkstar(pictured above), is brand new for Conduit 2.

When speaking of how to activate the alternate fire mode for the weapons, Keith said, "Players can now press the ‘alternate fire’ button to switch modes(defaulted to Down on the +Control Pad for the Wii Remote and Nunchuk style controls)."

“For Conduit 2 we amped it up a bit; adding “sticky” proximity grenades as its(TPC Launcher) alternate fire. What grenade launcher isn’t complete without sticky bombs!?…When the button is pressed, parts of the gun and grenade alter their color to red. Players can then plop down some grenades that explode when enemies get within range. This is perfect for protecting that capture or choke point. Another pro tip is that you can attach proximity mines to team mates and they can run around chasing after the other team! Sure, they might die in the ensuing explosion, but you don’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs!”, Keith said when speaking about the TPC Launcher’s alternate fire mode.

Conduit 2 will feature more than 20 weapons in the game, and with the alternate fire mode on some of the weapons, it will probably make for some interesting online multi-player matches, perhaps even requiring good teamwork.
