ZOMG! Battlefield 3 pre-orders are 10x more than that of Bad Company 2

Quick news blip:

Electronic Arts revealed during their Q1 earnings report for financial year 2012 that pre-orders for Battlefield 3 are ten times more than what Battlefield: Bad Company 2 held. VideoGamer analyzed the numbers and came up with roughly 90 million copies of Battlefield 3 being sold at launch.

Many factors can be involved with this, whether it be that the PC crowd who loved Battlefield 2 are hopping back on board (meaning they ignored the Bad Company series entirely), or perhaps a flow of long-time Call of Duty players are shifting gears and want something different.

Either way, that's an impressive number.
