Splinter Cell HD Trilogy Drops Online/Co-Op Modes

Ubisoft revealed new information today about the upcoming Splinter Cell Trilogy for the PlayStation 3. Sadly, most of the news happens to be bad news, but we'll get to that in a sec. To start with the good news, along with the obvious visual upgrades, the Splinter Cell Trilogy will also feature support for 3D televisions as well as support for Trophies which, are only known to be both "exciting" and "challenging" to obtain.

Now, for the bad news...

The Splinter Cell series introduced an innovative multiplayer mode with Pandora Tomorrow, the second iteration in the series. It came back in the third title, Chaos Theory, and many people found the mode to be quite the pleasure to play. Unfortunately, there will no no inclusion of multiplayer or co-operative modes in the HD remake, as stated by Ubisoft's Alex Monney on the PlayStation Blog.

This will surely bum a lot of people out, as many thought the multiplayer in Splinter Cell was worth a purchase alone. Will you guys still pick up this pack when it hits the PlayStation 3 sometime this year?
